Description: |
This brainteaser is not for just passing the time. Mister Mind is going to leave you wondering if a 16MHz CPU is smarter than you....
Mister Mind is a nice example of "commuter-ware". It's a perfect workout for your gray cells during the morning commute.
The purpose of the game is straightforward: You have to find out Mister Mind's secret number before he detects yours.
1. You have to choose a 4-digit secret number and Mr. Mind chooses his own 4-digit secret number.
2. The two players in turn try to guess their adversary's secret number by choosing random numbers and asking the other player whether their guess is right.
3. When you try to guess Mister Mind's number, he has to tell you how many digits of the random number you have chosen, are present in his secret number and whether they are in the correct position.
4. If a digit is present in the secret number, but is not in the correct position, you will get a "cow". If the digit is present in the secret number and it is also in the correct position, you will get a "bull". So, in essence, when you get 4 cows you have guessed all the digits in the secret number, but their positions are mixed up. Getting 4 bulls means you have found the right number and you win the game.
5. Whoever finds out the other player's secret number first, wins the game.
If you think this is easy, try the "cheat" mode. In this mode Mister Mind will be allowed to dynamically change his number according to your questions, the only limitation being that all his answers are going to stay correct even with the new (changed) number. This will ensure that in any given game you will be presented with the hardest number to find, based on your questions. If you can beat that, you are really good!
